Her research examines how digital platforms shape news production and distribution, with a focus on visual communication, climate journalism, social movements, and the role of social media in shaping public understanding of major societal issues.<br><br>She has been a COMPASS (Consortium on Media Policy Studies) Fellow through the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers University\u2019s Media, Inequality &amp; Change Center, and spent summer 2024 working with the media advocacy organization Free Press on U.S. media policy. She is also a research affiliate with the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication.<br><br>Her research has been published in top-tier journals including <em>Digital Journalism<\/em>, <em>Journalism &amp; Mass Communication Quarterly<\/em>, <em>Social Media + Society<\/em>, and <em>Environmental Communication<\/em>, and has received recognition from the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) and National Communication Association (NCA).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Afrooz Mosallaei is a Research Associate at the Center for News, Technology &amp; Innovation (CNTI) and holds a Ph.D. from Journalism and Media Studies at Rutgers University.
