Most recently, she was a\u00a0digital democracy specialist at USAID, where she worked to\u00a0build resilient and rights-respecting technology and information ecosystems in global majority countries around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to that, she ran communications at the Alliance for Securing Democracy at the German Marshall Fund of the United States and covered local government for The Salt Lake Tribune. She is passionate about using storytelling to bring people together and strengthen democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kayla received her master\u2019s degree in international peace and security with distinction from the Department of War Studies at King\u2019s College London, where her research focused on the kinetic impacts of social media narratives and disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in news media and French from Brigham Young University.
